BRIEF HISTORY
Sometime in early 1992, a Bible Study was started in the home of Rene and Jass Salita at Targa St. Village East Executive Homes by then, a young pastor, Frankie Balite. At about the same time, a children’s Bible class was also started among the kids who lived in Targa St. These youngsters were so enthusiastic about the Bible that they introduced their teachers, Sis Sally Jasareno and Bro Elvis Escobedo to their parents. The parents were then invited to the Bible Study at the home of Rene and Jass. Thus, Marisa and Ruben Capigon, who lived right across the street, newly transferred Jun and Ebot Cruz, as well as Evelyn and Reuben Altura all became regular attendees.
Such was the hand of God orchestrating all these openings for the gospel. Even before the plan to start a local congregation was conceived God was already at work. He not only brought in the people, He also provided for the funds to get the work going. In 1992, the newly vacated space, half front of Dr. Chynthia Balite’s clinic became the venue for the worship service. June 21, 1992 was chosen to be the date of the inaugural service. Around 50 people attended that first service. When it was time to choose a name for the local congregation, a meeting was called one Sunday after the worship service. The people prayed to God for the right name. Suggested names were turned in. After all the suggested names were considered, a vote was taken and the name Church of the Triumphant Christ was chosen. This name is derived from 1 Corinthians 15:57 and 2 Corinthians 2:14. The Church of the Triumphant Christ held Sunday worship services in the clinic from 1992-1996. But as the number of members grew, the church moved from place to place, to wit: Cainta Fair, Faith Christian School, VEEHAI Clubhouse, and a school at Jaguar.

In the year 1997, CTC experienced a major shaking; the congregation’s faith in God and faith on each other were tested. But with the grace of God, CTC remained standing. With the prayers and hard work of the CTC Board of Elders, then called core group, the church was reestablished, spiritually and morally. Reynaldo Farol, Noel Burias, and Rey Aguilar were installed as Pastors in the very same year. For more than two years CTC held worship services in the VEEHAI Clubhouse. The children’s ministry and young people’s ministry (YO or Young Overcomers) were also expanded. In the year 2000, the Church of the Triumphant Christ moved to Agora Center, still in Village East. It is then in this time that the elders felt the burden to pray for CTC’s own place. Different fund raising strategies such as signature campaign, worship team album, etc. were employed, but it is ultimately through the faith, kindness and cooperation of CTC members and elders that the church was able to purchase a lot at the frontier of Village East in 2002, and in 2003, the church began to build the structure. Finally, the Church of the Triumphant Christ was a wandering church no more. During this time, CTC was also able to establish outreaches in Das Mariñas and Indang Cavite, Tarlac, Antipolo, and Bulacan.
But as the Lord has promised in Hebrews 12:26-7—shakings will happen “so that what cannot be shaken may remain”—CTC experienced another major blow. Thought as it may seem, the Lord has used this instance to define who CTC is and what CTC is about. In the event of the church being abandoned by the then interim senior pastor and his sympathizers, the CTC elders stood their ground. In January 11, 2015, the elders assumed full leadership responsibility of the church, and in March of the same year, Joy Pring, former YO member and Elder for worship of CTC, joined the elders and was installed as pastor.
